Children from the Center for Special Educational Support in the town of Kubrat will receive this year their desired Christmas present again. This will happen thanks to the "Snowflake" campaign, organized by the kind-hearted student Merlin Mehmedova. For the fifth consecutive year, she has committed herself to giving a smile and hope to disadvantaged children through the charity event.
We asked the children to write letters to Santa Claus. We made a list of their Christmas wishes and all people with big hearts helped make the dream of each of them come true. "The volunteers who surprised the children with Christmas gifts once again proved that good has no religion, gender or age," Merlin explained. In her view, the campaign was supported by dozens of people who wanted to buy a gift for a particular child. "This year, thanks to the volunteers, all children from the Center for Special Educational Support will enjoy another magical and unforgettable holiday," Merlin Mehmedova commented.
A total of 74 children are looking forward to meeting Santa. They have asked for toys, winter clothes and shoes in their letters.
Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, there will be no Christmas party this year, but the good white-bearded man will find a way to make the kids happy.
"Children are the most wonderful gift. They are like snowflakes, clean and unique. We want them to feel happy, at least for a moment, to give them a smile and hope. We can't change the whole world, but we can change the Christmas of a child ", said Merlin and voiced hopes that kindness is contagious and that there will be more happy and joyful children in the years to come.
