Lake Atanasovsko located on Bulgaria’s southern Black Sea coast is suitable for year-round hiking and biking tours. Recently, the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation (BBF) presented 4 routes to the lake, which have already been uploaded to Googlemaps. Thus, everyone can get acquainted with a detailed description, detailed map and even indicated dangers along the route.
Lake Atanasovsko is located near the coastal city of Bourgas. It is one of the key ornithological locations in the country with more than 300 species of birds being present. Many of them are in danger of extinction on a global scale. The lake is connected to the Black Sea through a number of canals. That is why, its water is salty.
