Electronic prescriptions become valid on December 18, Deputy Minister of Health Zheni Nacheva said. At the initiative of professional organizations the QR code in the electronic prescriptions has been replaced with Personal Identification Number and the date of issue. At the same time, the use of a QR code is preserved as an option.
"In the first stage, most of the pharmacies will most likely not be included in the electronic prescription system. We will give the necessary time to include them all," Nacheva said.
The introduction of e-referrals and e-prescriptions has been accelerated as a priority due to the coronavirus epidemic situation, during which physical examinations are very difficult, Focus News Agency reported.
