6,000 icons for Covid-19 wards consecrated

6,000 icons depicting the scene of Nativity will be blessed this morning in the church of “St. Nedelya” in Sofia.

After that, clergymen who have recovered from coronavirus will enter the Military Medical Academy, Pirogov Hospital, Alexandrovska Hospital, “St. Ivan Rilski” and “St. Anna” hospitals to bring the icons to the people in the coronavirus wards. The clergy will also anoint with holy oil and sprinkle holy water on patients and medical staff.

Visits to medical institutions are also planned to take place in the next two days, according to the Holy Metropolis of Sofia.
