2020 has been bad year for 51% of Bulgarians: survey

2020 has been a good year for 6% of Bulgarians only and 51% of the respondents assessed it negatively. Negative assessments increased 3.5 times as compared to 2019, a survey conducted by Alpha Research sociological agency shows. Three-quarters of the respondents believe that 2020 has been worse for Bulgaria. One-fifth of them do not find much change as compared to the previous year. 53% expect next year to be better. 16% of the polled voiced pessimistic expectations of 2021. One-third of the respondents do not expect any change. 46% of the respondents are convinced that 2021 will be better for Bulgaria. According to 20% of the respondents, 2021 will be worse.

Nearly two-thirds said that so far neither they, nor their family members had had symptoms of coronavirus. 13% said they had already gone through the disease. This is approximately 670,000 people or 3 times more than the officially confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country.
