Average amount of mortgage loans in Bulgaria up in 2020

In 2020, Bulgarians took out more loans. They took 12% more mortgage loans and 5% more consumer loans as compared to the previous year. Consumer loans were most often used for home renovations and purchase of new furniture.

The average amount of consumer loans remained around EUR 5,113, while the average amount of mortgage loans saw an increase and amounted to EUR 56,242, BNT reported.
