Documentary photographers Mihaela Aroyo and Denislav Stoychev are in the city of Taraclia in Moldova to capture the lives of Bessarabian Bulgarians through their lenses, BTA has reported.
Their idea is for photos to show more about our compatriots who emigrated to Wallachia, Moldova and Ukraine during the Russo-Turkish War; "not only their customs and traditions, but also their daily lives.” For this purpose, the photographers are to visit cultural and educational institutions, private homes in villages with Bulgarian population.
Because of the coronavirus epidemic, it is not clear yet where the exhibition would be organized. Before visiting the Bessarabian Bulgarians in Moldova, the photographers visited 12 villages with Bulgarian population in Ukraine.
