Under the new administration of President Joe Biden, Bulgaria would continue to build on what has been achieved in recent years. This was what Bulgarian Ambassador to Washington Tihomir Stoytchev has told BNT.

"We have started a strategic dialogue at the highest level; the two countries have signed a roadmap for defense cooperation over the next 10 years. The project for modernization of the Bulgarian Air Force continues successfully. We have been working on diversifying the sources and routes for delivery of natural gas," Stoytchev said.

The diplomat added that because of the pandemic and security measures, the handover ceremony would be different than usual, but would focus on the topic of unity.
