The Armenian community in Bulgaria has called against holding the parliamentary elections on the scheduled date of April 4, which coincides with their Easter. In an open letter to President Rumen Radev, the “Armenian Community in Bulgaria” Association has called for rethinking the decision and setting another date, BNR reported.
Armenians hope that choosing the date April 4 was the result of lack of knowledge on the traditions of the "different" in Bulgaria and was not the result of a "biased choice" showing disrespect for the religious and constitutional rights of other religions. The letter reads that this day should be dedicated to the Savior, not to politicians and the election of future MPs.
