Trade between Bulgaria and Germany is expected to decline by nearly 6% in 2020 to about EUR 8 billion. In 2019, the Bulgaria-Germany trade amounted to EUR 8.5 billion. This is not a dramatic decline, Dr. Mitko Vasilev, CEO at the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce said.

Germany’s export to Bulgaria has decreased, but Bulgaria’s export to Germany has remained steady. That is why Bulgaria expects a positive trade balance with Germany in 2020. This is extremely good news, because it happened only twice- in 1942 and 2013, Mitko Vasilev commented for Bloomberg TV Bulgaria.
