Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov has again called on President Rumen Radev to put forward a position on the detention of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. "The Euro-Atlantic and the democratic community has put forward a position that Navalny must be released immediately. President Radev should also voice his position. He won't be repremanded. It is not that dangerous", Boyko Borissov said during a visit to the Ministry of Environment and Water, quoted by the government's press service.

In Premier Borissov’s view, this does not mean that Bulgaria is interfering in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation, or is spoiling its relations with this country. Premier Borissov also said that he had not heard President Radev’s position on the expulsion of Russian diplomats from Bulgaria. As for Rumen Radev’s accusation that he was unconcerned about Emilian Gebrev’s poisoning, Boyko Borisov said that the Bulgarian authorities were working with the British services on the issue.
