Orthodox Church commemorates the Three Holy Hierarchs

On January 30, the church pays tribute to the memory of the Three Holy Hierarchs and Fathers of the Church – St. Basil the Great, St. Gregory the Theologian and St. John Chrysostom.

For centuries, the Orthodox Church has celebrated their memory and paid respect for their enlightenment work on this day. That is why it has been chosen as a holiday of the higher Orthodox theological schools - faculties and theological academies.Liturgies are served on this day in churches across the country.
