A partial state of emergency has been declared in the village of Kosti, in Strandzha Mountain, near the border with Turkey. Much of the village is flooded after torrential rains and the overflow of the Veleka River.
40 houses are affected, some of them uninhabited. There are no people in need.

"We haven't slept all night. People have been evacuated, but the houses have been flooded," Mayor Anton Angelov told BNR. Within a month, the village is flooded for the second time by the incoming waters of the river. Locals insist that the river bed be enlarged in the section passing through the village, BNR Varna reported.
