The British coronavirus variant has already become the most common form of Covid-19 in Bulgaria, Professor Iva Ugrinova, Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, commented in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio.

In her words, all strains of Covid-19 will spread in Bulgaria. The RNA vaccines could be quickly modified to target the new coronavirus variants. The RNA vaccine has a very high efficiency against Covid-19, because it is based on a cutting-edge technology, Professor Ugrinova went on to say. Studies indicate that that immunity to Covid-19 lasts 8 months after infection. According to scientists, however, immunity may last up to 2 years after infection.
