Bulgaria insists that EU allow aid to rose producers

Bulgaria will insist that the European Commission apply crisis measures to help rose production.

At an online meeting of the Consultative Council on Oil-Yielding Roses, Minister of Agriculture Desislava Taneva stated that the oil-yielding rose falls within the scope of application of market disruption measures. Minister Taneva stated that at the moment it is important to provide funding to reduce rose blossom production because of lack of interest in purchasing roses on the world markets. Desislava Taneva was categorical that this country must continue to make efforts to preserve rose production because it is an element of the brand Bulgaria is known by in the world, the Ministry of Agriculture states.
