Bulgarian hospitals cope with increase of Covid-19 hospitalizations

Bulgaria’s health system is prepared to cope with the increased number of Covid-19 cases caused by the spread of the British coronavirus variant in Bulgaria. This was announced by the National Operational Headquarters at a consultation meeting hosted by Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov. More than 2,000 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria for the second consecutive day. The number of patients with coronavirius infection in Bulgarian hospitals has exceeded 5,000 for the first time in 2021.

The Bulgarian hospitals are expanding the capacity of their Covid-19 units to prepare for a further increase of the number of Covid-19 cases.

More vaccines are expected in Bulgaria on March 8 or 9 at the earliest.
