Bulgaria’s Sunny Beach resort on the Black Sea coast is leader in the chart of the British Post Office Travel Money Report for the cheapest resorts in Europe in 2021. The report compares the prices in pounds of eight staple goods and services that tourists usually spend their money on, the Daily Mail writes.
In Sunny Beach in the past year, a visit of two people to a restaurant /incl. dinner with a bottle of wine/, plus a coffee, beer, soda, mineral water, a small bottle of sunscreen and mosquito repellent cost a total of 30.68 pounds, but in 2021 the price of the market basket has fallen to 27.71 pounds, which is 11.2% less. This makes Sunny Beach the cheapest resort for British tourists in Europe.
The Daily Mail adds that Bulgaria’s biggest seaside resort offers sunshine, sandy coves, vibrant beachfront bars, and good beer at a low price.
Turkey with the resort of Marmaris is placed second immediately after Bulgaria, followed by Algarve in Portugal and Costa del Sol in Spain.
Meanwhile, no one can predict whether the British tourists would be able to reach the resorts in the chart this summer. It all depends on the development of the pandemic and the tourist travel agreements between the different countries. The media recalls that low-cost flights from Gatwick (London) to Sunny Beach resume on July 2, with return fares from £59.
Among the highlights of the Bulgarian resort Daily Mail points out catamaran cruise for dolphin-spotting, swimming and sunbathing.
