Italian Sophie Mathiou wins women’s slalom at FIS Alpine Junior Ski Championships Bansko 2021

Nineteen-year-old Italian Sophie Mathiou won the women’s slalom at the FIS Alpine Junior Ski Championships Bansko 2021. She stopped the clock at 1:40.24 minutes. In the first leg she finished fifth (49,71 seconds), but managed to earn the gold after a strong performance in the second leg of the event when she stopped the clock at 50,53 seconds. Moa Bostroem Mussener (Sweden) earned the silver medal (49,63 seconds and 50,81 seconds). IJ Hurt from the USA placed third (49,63 seconds and 51.09 seconds). 

Bulgaria’s alpine skier Eva Vukadinova finished 26th with a total of 1:49,06 minutes. The second Bulgarian representative Julia Zlatkova placed 27th (1:49,13 minutes).
