The Central Election Commission has sanctioned media for illegally announcing exit polls results. Such violations of the Electoral Code have been found by the CEC on the websites of two electronic media.
According to the Electoral Code, announcing voting results in any form is prohibited in the period starting 24 hours before election day until the end of elections is announced. The fine for such a violation ranges from 1000 to 2500 euros.
