Slavia (Sofia) has 7 championship titles. It is an eight-time winner of the Bulgarian Cup. The club is part of First Professional Football League. Its stadium “Slavia” has a capacity of more than 25,000 seats. The official colors of the team are black and white.

The century-old history of this Bulgarian football club is full of many emotions, victories and defeats. On April 10, 1913, a group of young enthusiasts established the club. Why they decided to name their football club Slavia? The name Slavia was chosen as a symbol of Slavonic culture. Besides, the founders of the football club took as a model the football club from Prague (the Czech Republic) bearing the same name. On August 11, Slavia played its first official match. It scored a 1:0 victory versus Football Club 13. In 1926, Slavia won its first champion title.

Slavia won 5 more champion titles before World War 2 and placed among the most popular teams in Bulgaria. In the beginning of the 1960’s, Slavia won the Bulgarian Cup and made a successful debut in the European football tournaments.
