In children, Covid-19 continues to have milder symptoms

Photo: Library

The symptoms of coronavirus infection in children are much milder. This was clarified to BNT by Prof. Svetlana Velizarova, head of the children's clinic at the Lung Hospital in Sofia. According to her, the virus has started to "rejuvenate" because of the available testing kits, with which parents immediately examine their children when the virus is suspected.

There is not a single child in the Covid-19 ward, but nevertheless the risk remains mostly for children with chronic diseases and overweight, Prof. Velizarova warned.
The main problems that the virus hides for children are the educational, social and communication gaps accumulated during the pandemic. They will appear in about 10 years, the pediatrician believes.
