“Sufficient quantities of mRNA vaccines will have arrived in Bulgaria by June and we shall be able to achieve collective immunity,” Prof. Todor Kantardzhiev, member of the National Operational Headquarters and Director of the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases said for BNT.

He commented that Bulgaria approves of the introduction of vaccination travel certificates. “In light of the fact that we are a tourist destination I think that a very active policy is being pursued with our neibhbours, and at an EU level to be able to have a freer but controlled movement of people,” Prof. Kantardzhiev said.

“The results of the tests showing whether different kinds of vaccines can be combined for the first and the second shot are expected within two weeks though this is not viable as yet from a legal point of view,” Prof. Todor Kantardzhiev said.
