Rise in incomes of Bulgarian households marked in 2020

In 2020, the average total annual income per household member was 3,580 euros, which is a 6.2-percent rise compared to 2019, the National Statistical Institute has reported. The total income per member of a Bulgarian household has increased 1.9 times for the past 10 years, according to the data. Salaries have the highest share in the total income of a household - 56%.

Salary incomes in 2020 reached 2,301 euros and increased by 5.3% compared to 2019, while in comparison to 2011, they have doubled. Pension incomes in the past year reached 1,032 euros and increased by 12% compared to 2019 and by 77% in comparison to 2011.

In the period 2011 - 2020, household expenditures rose 1.8 times.
