Bulgaria's outgoing Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov said at a meeting of the outgoing Council of Ministers that the decision of the National Assembly to negotiate deliveries of the Russian vaccine "Sputnik V" contradicts Bulgarian legislation and EU health policy.

Angelov pointed out that the Russian vaccine has not yet been approved by the European Medicines Agency and without such approval it cannot be used in Bulgaria.

The minister expects another 200,000 doses of the Pfizer/Biontech vaccine on May 3. Outgoing Prime Minister Boyko Borissov also said that the issue of supplying the Russian vaccine could be discussed only after EU approval.
