MPs reject proposal for cutting party subsidy to 50 Eurocents for each valid vote

Bulgaria’s MPs rejected the proposal of "There is Such a People" party to reduce the annual party subsidy from from EUR 4 to 50 Eurocents for each valid vote.

76 MPs from GERB/SDS and "There is Such a People" voted in favor of the proposal, The Parliamentary group of BSP for Bulgaria, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Democratic Bulgaria, as well as 5 MPs from GERB/SDS and 2 MPs from "Stand up! Thugs out!" voted against. 6 MPs from different political forces abstained, informed the reporter of the Bulgarian National Radio Violeta Ashikova.

The leader of "There is Such a People" party Slavi Trifonov criticized the majority in Parliament that rejected the proposal. "This parliament failed to form a majority to fulfill the will of the citizens. Maybe the next National Assembly will be able to do so," Trifonov wrote on Facebook.
