As of today businesses can buy electricity from the EU

As of 11 May, Bulgaria has full access to the single integrated European electricity market via the platform Day Ahead.

Every Bulgarian business is now able to buy electricity from an EU country with a delivery date on the following day. The price includes payment of the delivery network across all European borders. The deals will only be concluded when there is spare capacity along all borders. The deliveries are starting via Greece. The link with Romania is to become functional within months. This is due to the delayed accession to the single energy market of Romania, Czechia, Hungary and Slovakia, Konstantin Konstantinov, CEO of the Bulgarian independent energy exchange said for the BNR’s Horizont channel.
