Initiative groups have called for changes in existing laws in the field of culture, the first being the Film Industry Act. The goal is to have a prepared draft when the new National Assembly is formed. This is what Minister of Culture Velislav Minekov has told BNR. He pointed out that European funding of nearly 50 million euros is expected under the recovery plan, as the sum is close to the ministry's annual budget.

An audit is also forthcoming as it would cover all sectors of the ministry's activities, including those related to the protection of the country's archaeological treasures. "Unfortunately, some financial interests seem to stand higher than the value of our history and past," Minekov said.
