There is a number of companies receiving large resources from the state, the Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev has told BNR. According to him, the funds were most probably used for corruption and the purchase of votes.
In the previous year alone, 13-14 companies received over 1.5 billion euros and by April 2021 some 750 million euros more were transferred to four companies. Another analysis has shown huge cash resources - money that companies do not keep in a bank, but claim it is stored in a safe.
