Bulgarian Orthodox priest to offer a prayer in the Vatican

A historic church service will be held today in the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican, the new presbiter for Bulgaria's Orthodox community in Rome Ivan Ivanov said for the BNR. 

"For the first time in the history of the Orthodox Church, a prayer will be offered in the Papal Crypt of Saint Peter’s Basilica, where the chapel of the Patron Saints of Europe (St.St. Cyril and Methodius) is located", explained Ivan Ivanov. The first Orthodox liturgy in the Basilica of Saint Clement in Rome will be held on May 27 near the tomb of Saint Cyril.
