Bulgaria expects more foreign tourists in mid-June

More foreign tourists are expected to arrive in Bulgaria after mid-June. Tourism remains among the sectors that have been most severely affected by the coronavirus epidemic, said Svetlana Atanasova, chairwoman of the Bulgarian Association of Travel Agents (BATA)

"When the tourism industry was functioning normally, it contributed to more than 16% of this country’s gross domestic product", commented Svetlana Atanasova. The tourism industry hopes that the EU Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate will facilitate the travel of more European tourists to Bulgaria. Bulgaria expects more tourists from Israel this summer. However, the tourism industry will rely mainly on Bulgarian holidaymakers during this year’s summer tourist season.
