There is no way 70% of the population of Bulgaria can be vaccinated by autumn, seeing as 20,000 vaccines are being administered daily, said Prof. Nikolay Vitanov in an interview for bTV, rebutting the opinion of the National Operational Headquarters, dissolved by the caretaker cabinet, which expected herd immunity to be achieved in the coming months.
According to Prof. Vitanov, no less than 50,000 people have to be vaccinated every day if we want to reach a vaccination level of 55% by autumn. He said further that the risk of a surge in the number of infections is small at the moment and people should not be worried.
