Less than 1% of daily coronavirus tests return positive result

A total of 157 new coronavirus cases have been registered for a day. 0.88% of 17,862 tests returned positive result, according to the Single Coronavirus Information Portal. More than 3 million Covid-19 tests have been conducted in Bulgaria since the beginning of the pandemic .

Most of the newly infected are in Sofia-city - 43. Followed by the districts of Blagoevgrad - 15, Plovdiv and Shumen with 9. No cases were registered in Lovech and Stara Zagora in the past day.

Currently there are 12,190 registered coronavirus patients. 2,239 patients are in hospital as 242 of them need intensive care. 15 people with coronavirus infection passed away yesterday. The number of recoveries in the past 24 hours reached 893.

9,675 vaccines have been administered for a day which a low number for a workday. The total number of administered vaccine doses stands at 1,586,687. There are 704,409 Bulgarians who have completed the vaccination, which is about 10% of the country’s population.
