The Municipality of Burgas organizes a thematic summer weekend on June 18, 19 and 20, dedicated to the Black Sea mussel. Mussels are an essential part of the local culinary tradition, so this delicacy is present in the menu of almost all restaurants in the city.

During the mussel weekend, guests of St. Anastasia Island can try freshly baked mussels for free. Separately, they will have the opportunity to taste the special island herbal beer, home-made honey lemonade with fresh mint leaves and other delicacies in the island restaurant.

Within the frame of the Mussel weekend, St. Anastasia Island launches also a "Day of Clean Sea". On that occasion, early on Sunday, divers from the club "Friends of the Sea" in Burgas, will dive to clean the sea bottom around the island.

The musicians from the Burgas band "Hot Sand" will take care of the good mood of the tourists.
