Judges Boryana Dimitrova and Krassimir Shekerdzhiev, coordinators of the project for reform of the judicial map, have resigned. The project has come under serious criticism from lawyers, NGOs, local communities, as well as the caretaker Minister of Justice and representatives of political parties. In a special address, Dimitrova and Shekerdzhiev thanked the judges who voted for them 4 years ago.

Speaking to BNR, Shekerdzhiev commented that his resignation was motivated by the feeling that he would no longer be able to contribute to the effective management of the judiciary.
