Experts warn of high forest fire risk

Owing to the high temperatures, the low air humidity and the many people going to the mountains to seek relief from the heat wave, experts from the Southwestern Forestry Enterprise are warning that there is an extremely high danger of forest fires.

Fire prevention and protection measures plans have been drafted and approved at all forestry enterprises, with a special focus on the state of the forest firebreaks and their being cleared of vegetation. The mineralized strips will be extended by another 200,000 linear metres.

Reporting by BNR's correspondent Keti Trencheva.
