The organizers of the traditional cherry festival, which is held in the town of Kyustendil (Western Bulgaria) known for the abundance of cherry orchards, hope for a cheerful and uplifted mood and many guests

More than 100 local cherry producers, community centres and municipalities, clubs and even kindergartens take part in the Cherry Festival. There are also prizes - for the biggest cherry, the most attractive stall with white, red and pink cherries.

Last year, the holiday was held online in full compliance with anti-epidemic measures. Now the celebrating citizens seem to have forgotten about Covid-19 - "We all rely on this - to take off our masks and eat cherries", they say.
