Bulgaria's Central Election Commission has given permission to prosecute a candidate for MP from Burgas region in the upcoming July 11th parliamentary elections. The decision was taken following a request from Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev.

In the course of the investigation, witnesses have been questioned, searches have been conducted at several addresses, and evidence and documents collected.

At the end of June, the MP candidate with the initials Ts. G. provided property to four people in the village of Marinka in order to persuade them to exercise their right to vote on July 11 in favor of a certain candidate and coalition. The envisaged punishment for the crime is 1 to 6 years in prison and a fine of 5,000 to 10,000 euros.
