43 cases of the Delta variant of Covid-19 have been identified in Bulgaria

43 cases of the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, known as the Indian variant, 49 cases of the British variant, and one case of the South African variant have been identified in Bulgaria by the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases.

The samples were taken from patients with Covid-19 in the period of June 1 to June 25, 2021 and are from 14 districts of the country. Most of the cases of the Indian variant have been registered in Sofia - 33.

Three of the individuals in whom the Indian variant was found have died.
