The last polling stations along the West Coast of the USA closed at 6 AM Bulgarian time, bringing to an end election day for Bulgarians voting abroad for the new 46th National Assembly of Bulgaria.

Voting in USA took place in 58 polling stations, with a heightened interest registsred in some of them. In Washington DC there was a stream of voters throughout the day. As to the voting at other polling stations throughout USA, Boyko Hadjiyski, consul at the Bulgarian embassy in Washington DC stated for the BNR, that during Election Day no problems have been reported by the consulates general.

According to unofficial data around 450 people cast their vote in Washington DC, 200 fewer compared to the 4 April election, which can be explained with the fact that more polling places were set up throughout the region. At the same time, according to unofficial data, more people voted in Washington DC yesterday than during the election in 2017.
