Sharp rise in number of new Covid-19 infections

There were 145 new coronavirus cases registered in the country during the past day. 0.9% of 15,953 tests returned positive result, according to the Single Coronavirus Information Portal. Most of the cases were registered in the capital city of Sofia – 45, followed by the district of Burgas with 27 cases. No new infections were registered in the districts of Vidin and Montana.

The number of actively ill patients decreased from 7,538 to 7,391. The number of hospitalized patients also decreased from 739 to 722. A total of 82 patients remain in intensive care, in comparison to 88 a day earlier. There were 3 coronavirus-related deaths in the past day and recoveries reached 285.

10,002 vaccines were administered on Tuesday. The total number of administered doses in this country has reached 1,929,703. A total of 881,214 people have already completed the immunization process.
