“The positions of “There is Such a People” party (ITN) and “BSP for Bulgaria” coalition have converged on almost all issues,” said ITN’s nomination for prime minister Plamen Nikolov after the meeting between the two parliamentary groups. There has been no discussion, as yet, on whether there will be an agreement between them or just a joint declaration of governance, Nikolov added.

ITN is still looking for a candidate for minister of justice, after the withdrawal of Momtchil Ivanov, Nikolov stated. He denied he would withdraw one more member of the prospective cabinet.

5 PM on 6 August is the constitutional deadline for ITN to hand the mandate for the formation of a government back to the president and propose a list of ministers to be submitted to parliament for approval.
