The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) has warned that malicious electronic messages are sent on its behalf for received currency transfers. Emails are an attempt at a phishing attack, in which recipients are invited to follow the instructions in the attached link.

"The Bulgarian National Bank has no registered e-mail servers in domains such as bnb.bg and does not send messages to citizens with similar content," the financial institution said in a statement. The BNB warns users not to open the message or attachments because there is a danger of becoming a victim of computer fraud.
