Minister of Health: In case of new coronavirus wave, planned surgeries must not stop

The measures to be taken over the expected rise in COVID-19 infections in this country have been discussed at a meeting between the Minister of Health Stoycho Katsarov and the management boards of associations of hospitals.

The Minister has expressed his firm opinion that in the event of a new coronavirus wave, planned surgeries should not stop. He also said that talks were underway to increase financing of the clinical pathway for the treatment of COVID-19 and that the Ministry of Health was proposing the creation of a package for the diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus patients in an outpatient and ambulatory setting.
