Young man killed by lightning in Sofia

A storm in Sofia this afternoon took the life of a young man. He was struck by lightning in the region of Tsarigradsko Shose boulevard and was killed instantly, the Fire Safety and Civil Protection Directorate General has announced.

Another young man, 26, who was with him was hurt and is being treated in a hospital in Sofia. He is conscious and responsive, Katya Sungarska, spokesperson for the emergency medical services said for bTV. The incident took place minutes after 5 PM.
