Divergent comments by parliamentary forces on chances of formation of a government

“With the handing of the third exploratory mandate to the Bulgarian Socialist Party the chances of forming a government with the participation of “Democratic Bulgaria” were reduced,” the coalition’s co-chair Hristo Ivanov said.

“Stand Up, BG! We Are coming!” stated they are ready to negotiate but, according to one of its leaders Nikolay Hadjigenov “the numbers probably won’t add up.”

The position of the political force with the biggest parliamentary group “There Is Such a People" (ITN) remains unchanged and it will vote against the formation of a cabinet.

“We are advancing towards one more snap election during the 4th wave of Covid-19 and economic turmoil,” said Toma Bikov, MP from the formerly ruling party GERB.

According to GERB’s coalition partner SDS, which has not been invited to take part in the negotiations, the country needs a new cabinet.
