Ruzhdi Ruzhdi wins first medal for Bulgaria at Tokyo Paralympic Games

Ruzhdi Ruzhdi earned a silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Bulgaria’s athlete placed second at the shot put event. Ruzhdi, who won the Olympic gold at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro in the F55 category, won the silver medal in his fifth attempt (12.23 meters).

The thirty-year-old Ruzhdi is a world record holder, a world champion and European champion in this sports discipline. Bulgaria is represented at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics by 4 athletes.
