There has been an increase in unaccompanied minors in refugee centres along the Bulgarian border, mainly from Syria and Afghanistan. In an interview with BNR, the chairman of the State Agency for Refugees Petya Parvanova pointed out that Bulgaria was a temporary stop for migrants seeking to continue their journey to other countries.

According to the agency, in recent months there has been an increased flow of migrants, but this is within the provided capacity, which is filled up to 32%. The total number of accommodation places for foreigners seeking protection is 5,160, and if necessary it could be increased to 6,000.
