Bulgaria reports 437 new Covid-19 infections, hospitalizations continue to rise

437 is the number of newly registered Covid-19 cases out of 7,324 tests performed in the country in the past day, a positivity rate of 5.97%, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show.

On Sunday there was no region of the country with a three-digit number of new infections, the highest number being in Sofia - 87, followed by Varna with 60, Plovdiv with 33 and Burgas with 31. 

37,593 is the number of active Covid-19 cases. Another 37 coronavirus patients were hospitalized over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of people being treated in hospital to 4,609, of them 373 are in intensive care. 53 patients have died in the past day, 424 are reported as having recovered.

1,956 doses of vaccine have been administered in the past day, bringing the total number of people in the country with at least one dose of vaccine to 2,407,986. But only half that number – 1,236,422 - are fully vaccinated.
