The unloading of Vera Su ship which ran aground near Yaylata protected area has been suspended

The unloading of the ship Vera Su which ran aground in the vicinity of ​​Yaylata protected area started after 9.30 pm on September 27. The fuel has already been drained from the thirty-two-year-old vessel. At this point, there is no information how and whether the operation will continue. The weather along the seacoast has deteriorated and the strong winds may damage the ship.

Radio Varna reported that part of the dangerous cargo (nitrogenous fertilizer) spilled into the sea during the transshipment. This is shown by a video footage published on the website maritime.bg.
