The head of Bulgaria's Supreme Court of Cassation, Lozan Panov, enters the race for president as an independent candidate, BNR has learned from its sources. Initiator is the non-governmental organization "Justice for Everyone", which was at the basis of the protests against the nomination of Ivan Geshev for Prosecutor General and has been demanding his resignation for two years now.

Lozan Panov's nomination is expected to be officially announced today when the initiative committee will meet at 17.00 in front of the presidency. The committee will not include prominent politicians and the candidate for vice president is likely to be a woman who is not a lawyer. The candidacy of Panov does not require him to leave his position. It is enough for him to go on a leave, according to "Justice for Everyone".

After Rumen Radev and Anastas Gerdzhikov, Panov becomes the third independent candidate for president.
